Sphere on Spiral Stairs

About me

I first noticed my interest in art when I was a kid. Every day in class I found myself doodling more and more. Later in middle school, I decided to take an art class where I truly discovered my passion for art. The main medians I used were pencil and charcoal drawings, painting, and oil pastel works. It was around the beginning of high school when I started to dabble with digital art. My idea of digital art at that time was just using a computer to draw on (like the owl and plane window below). It did not interest me that much at the time so I never committed to it. I grew up in the state of Maine so I feel very connected to nature. My art reflects that as I normally depict animals or landscapes. A couple of my motivations for art are my grandmother and my high school art teacher. My grandmother was an artist and a professor in art who even had one of her pieces in a museum. It was an ink work piece called “Sebastian” (first photo below). She was excited to see another artist in the family and always supported me before she passed away. My high school art teacher was someone who always stuck by me and helped me progress my skills. He even gave me an award in front of the whole school for my hard work in his class. Art has always been a personal hobby so I’ve tried to keep it more lighthearted so I don’t get burnt out. As I get older I want to get better and use more medians. Digital art seemed like the next best step and there is much more to it than I thought. I am excited to learn more about the subject. Follow along with the blog to keep up with my progress!
